Cytotechnologist – Manager

 

Qualifications: Completion of accredited cytology program.  Minimum of 5 years of full time experience as a cytotechnologist. Must have a current State of California Department of Public Health Cytotechnology license and ASCP certification.

 

Responsibilities to include:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of cytology criteria necessary for accurate interpretation of gyn and non-gyn cytology.
  • Keep necessary records and documentation as per APMG protocol and following CLIA and State requirements.
  • Stay current on all CME requirements
  • Spend no less than eight (8) hours a day to complete daily workload, not to exceed prorated and hourly limit determined by the maximum workload limit.
  • Monitor daily workload of each cytotechnologist making sure daily maximum is not exceeded.
  • Responsible for monitoring hours of each cytotechnologist for payroll purposes.
  • Assist the Medical Director and CEO in the implementation of all procedures in the Department of Cytology.
  • Conducts performance reviews.
  • Maintain supplies and negotiate with vendors.
  • Communicates information to staff on an on-going basis.
  • Maintains a leadership role to staff members.
  • Tabulate, review, and maintain monthly laboratory statistics.
  • Tabulate, review, and maintain each cytotechnologist’s statistics
  • Compile monthly and yearly reports on cases and diagnoses.
  • Assist the CEO in evaluation of the cytotechnologist’s periodic review.
  • Assist the CEO in the implementation of and the monitoring of disciplinary action for each cytotechnologist.
  • Specific administrative duties as assigned and needed.
  • Security/HIPAA Access Level 4.
