Los Gatos based Medical Staff Julia S. Chan, M.D., M.B.A., Medical Director, is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, with expertise in Dermatopathology. Recruited from the faculty of the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Chan has been a principal pathologist in our Los Gatos lab since 1988, specializing in Dermatopathology and all aspects of outpatient pathology. Dr. Chan received her M.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her pathology training at U.C. San Francisco and S.F. General Hospital. L#G57146 A founding partner of the APMG, Inc., Dr. Chan is the President of the medical group and Medical Director of the Los Gatos lab, while also serving as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to her degree in Medicine, Dr. Chan also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration which she acquired prior to embarking on her medical career. With strong management experiences in health care and service industries, Dr. Chan guides the medical group to provide services to our referring doctors with the highest degree of quality and operational efficiency. Werner J. Stamm, M.D., is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Stamm brings vast experience in gynecological pathology and serves as APMG’s Director of Cytopathology. He also has special expertise in fine needle aspiration. Dr. Stamm received his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Francisco and completed his Pathology residency at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. L#A18689 Leonard A. Valentino, M.D., is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Dermatopathology and Nuclear Medicine.
He serves as the Medical Director of the Bone Density Center
in Redwood City. Dr. Valentino received his M.D. degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his pathology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Young also serves as APMG’s Director of Quality Assurance. Dr. Young received his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, where he also completed his Pathology residency. Hawksley, M.D., is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with special expertise in the areas of breast pathology, gynecological pathology and gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Hawksley also serves as the Clinical Laboratory Director at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz.
