Podiatry

Podiatry

APMG offers comprehensive podiatric diagnostic service including interpretation of a broad range of inflammatory, degenerative, and neoplastic conditions.

All skin biopsies are evaluated by board certified dermatopathologists.

All toe nail plate biopsies are evaluated for presence of fungal hyphae (PAS stain).

In-depth analysis of bone specimens with detailed histological evaluation of joint cartilage for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and infection.

All joint fluid specimens are evaluated for crystals (see specimen requirement).

Women’s Health and Gynecologic Pathology

Women’s Health and Gynecologic Pathology

APMG offers comprehensive diagnostic pathology service for women’s health clinics, obstetrics and gynecology practices as well as surgery centers.

A subspecialty trained full time gynecologic pathologist is available for daily consultation.

We have expertise in the interpretation of all female genital tract biopsies (vulva, vagina, cervix, and endometrium) as well as surgical specimens (hysterectomies and oophorectomies).

All cervical biopsies are routinely correlated with most recent Pap smear.

We have a full-service women’s cytology laboratory with expertise in ThinPrep® and SurePath® Pap smears.

The state-of-the-art automated cytology review system (Hologic – hyperlink to Roche) to help cytotechnologists highlight areas of slides for further manual review.

All the Pap smears are screened by experienced ASCP certified cytotechnologists and are routinely reviewed by pathologists.

High risk HPV genotyping (16, 18 and all other high-risk genotypes) co-testing available in house.

Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) for chlamydia and gonorrhea are available in house.

24-hour turnaround time for all routine cases.

APMG has provided comprehensive dermatopathology consultation services since 1956.

With over 15 years combined experience, our group is the service of choice for many dermatologists in the counties we serve.

We have vast experience in the interpretation of atypical nevi, early stage melanoma, and unusual skin neoplasms.

We currently have three subspecialty trained dermatopathologists affiliated with leading local academic institutions who are experts in the field.

Immunohistochemistry laboratory is supervised by our experienced supervisor Floresita P.

Flossy Puth started her career in Histology working at Impath Labs in Southern California after attending Cal State Fullerton.  She has been in the Histopathology field for over 20 years and has previously worked at Stanford Hospital, Genentech and Kaiser Berkeley Regional Labs.   She currently contracts research work at Genentech, a skincare enthusiast and a licensed esthetician.  HT (ASCP).
