Our History
Our History
APMG Inc. was founded in 1956 by Dr. Donald Alcott in Los Gatos, California. The practice soon grew quickly to become a full-service outpatient anatomic and clinical pathology laboratory. APMG continues to grow, and we now serve physicians throughout California with conveniently located two practice locations, Los Gatos and Santa Cruz.
Our group currently consists of 9 pathologists who are Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and have completed Subspecialty Fellowships in Dermatopathology, Surgical Pathology, Breast and Gynecologic Pathology from world renowned institutes such as Stanford Medical Center, UCSF Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Our pathologists are outpatient and inpatient specialists that produce accurate, diagnostic reports for most of the biopsy specimens within 24 hours. We accomplish this with the help of our dedicated staff who work throughout the night, allowing us to process biopsy specimens the same day they are received. All challenging cases and diagnoses of malignancy are routinely reviewed by multiple pathologists which allows us to produce consistent, accurate results and provide useful insight into challenging cases.
We are a longest standing independent private diagnostic pathology service in the Bay area. As an independent practice we can tailor our service to fit your needs, regardless of the size or setting of your practice. Some of the benefits of being our client include free couriers and supplies, auto faxed reports, electronic bill payment for patients and friendly client service staff. Your patients are our number one priority, and our pathologists are available only a phone call away to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. Contact our sales and marketing team to see how we can help you.
