Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and is a native of North Carolina. After undergraduate and medical education at Duke University, he continued on to a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Duke. He subsequently completed a general surgical pathology fellowship at UCSF Medical Center. He has experience practicing as a general surgical pathologist in California and recently joined the APMG Pathology staff. L#C54729

Paula S. Quinn, M.D.

Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with special expertise in the areas of hematopathology and dermatopathology. Dr. Quinn is a Fellow of the Royal College of Canadian Physicians and Surgeons in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Quinn received her M.D. degree from McGill University and completed her Anatomic Pathology residency at Stanford University. L#G81221

Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with special expertise in the areas of breast pathology, gynecological pathology and gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Hawksley also serves as the Clinical Laboratory Director at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. Dr. Hawksley received her M.D. degree from Brown University and completed her Pathology Residency at Letterman Army Medical Center. L#G53698


Ursula E. Lang, M.D., Ph.D.

Ursula E. Lang, M.D., Ph.D.

Board certified in Anatomic Pathology. Her primary area of practice is dermatological pathology. Dr. Lang received her M.D./Ph.D. degrees from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She went on to complete anatomic pathology training at the University of California, San Francisco in a physician-scientist track where she pursued translational research in melanocyte biology with Dr. Robert Judson and Dr. Iwei Yeh. She also completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at Stanford University and has received several awards from the American Society of Dermatopathology. Her most recent experience was working with the University of California, San Francisco Dermatopathology group under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy H. McCalmont and with Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital as the primary Dermatopathologist. L#A136778

Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She is also specialized in Breast and Gynecological Pathology. Dr. Srivastava completed her medical school training from B.J. Medical College (Pune, India). She completed residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in General Surgical Pathology at Mayo Clinic, (Rochester, MN) followed by another fellowship in Breast and Gynecological Pathology at Stanford Medical Center. L#A114189

Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. His primary areas of practice are gynecological and urological pathology. Dr. Young also serves as APMG’s Director of Quality Assurance. Dr. Young received his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, where he also completed his Pathology residency. Dr. Young also completed an Oncological Pathology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. L#G64526

Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Dermatopathology and Nuclear Medicine. He is the past President of the Professional Staff at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City and was previously on the staff of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in the Dermatopathology Branch. Dr. Valentino received his M.D. degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his pathology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Julia S. Chan, M.D., M.B.A.

Julia S. Chan, M.D., M.B.A., Medical Director

Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, with expertise in Dermatopathology. Recruited from the faculty of the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Chan has been a principal pathologist in our Los Gatos lab since 1988, specializing in Dermatopathology and all aspects of outpatient pathology. Dr. Chan received her M.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her pathology training at U.C. San Francisco and S.F. General Hospital. L#G57146
A founding partner of the APMG, Inc., Dr. Chan is the President of the medical group and Administrative Medical Director of the Los Gatos lab. She has served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco for over twenty years. In addition to her degree in Medicine, Dr. Chan also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration which she acquired prior to embarking on her medical career. With strong management experiences in health care and service industries, Dr. Chan guides the medical group to provide services to our referring doctors with the highest degree of quality and operational efficiency.
